Hydrology Web Quest
Introduction
There is water all around us...in us...on us...and under us! The study of water is called hydrology. Water is considered an abiotic factor in an ecosystem. However, the biotic community that lives in the water depends on its physical, chemical and biological conditions. To determine these conditions, one must examine and evaluate the stream's velocity, dissolved oxygen content, temperature, pH levels, and bottom type (i.e. sandy, bedrock or gravel & rubble).
