Did you know that one of the pyramids of
Ancient Egypt measure exactly 1 millionth the distance to the sun? We can
thank the Egyptians for written language, irrigation farming techniques,
woven cloth, pottery, razors, eye make-up, perfume , combs, mirrors, tweezers,
and the bow& arrow.

Task
A popular textbook company is looking at
removing the topic of Egypt from their history books. They feel that Egypt
didn't have enough impact on today's society to leave it in their new textbooks.
What do you think? Your task is to research one of the topics from the
list below and produce a multimedia presentation that shows the importance of
the study of Egypt and the influence that Egypt had on today's society. Then
decide for yourself if Egypt should be left in this company's history book!

textbook, library and on the internet.

information to be used in your presentation. Your teacher will give you a

4. Your teacher will guide you through the
process of creating a PowerPoint Presentation when your research is complete.
Before going to the computer lab, have your slides planned out on your own
notebook paper. In other words hand write each slide before sitting down at the
computer. When you go to the lab, have all information ready to type on
each slide. There will be a folder of graphics, photographs and music to
include in your presentations provided for you to use.
