SHARK SHOUT OUTS GO TO:
Darlene

working together as a team to make sure all areas of
need are covered for each other so that our school runs
efficiently and our students' need are met and
supervised.
Ms Anne and her assistant for their creativity, caring
and putting in long hours so that our morning show is
entertaining, yet informative to our students, our
students are provided inspiration for the love of books.
Our book fair simply ROCKS!

CHAMPS
School wide Behavior Expectations
So far I am seeing great student success with behavior
in common areas. Now, our expectations must
infiltrate our classroom activities. I will send
out a set of classroom PPT posters that you can edit to
fit your classroom activities. Please post CHAMPS
in a visible place in your classroom and refer to it
often. We will be looking for CHAMPS in everyone's room
by the end of the week. It can be communicated with
simple letters on your white board or a laminated poster
as seen in the samples below. Remember, we are in
the infant stages of our behavior plan, and will be
implementing it as we create it. Click on
the thumbnails to see CHAMPs examples which utilized the
classroom whiteboard or white laminated poster board.

If you need more resources to implement
CHAMPS, let me or Paula know right away.

Whatever It
Takes!
Doing whatever it takes to teach our students to read
should be our primary focus! Take advantage of
your schedule which allows for uninterrupted literacy
during the morning in the primary. All hands
should be on deck during primary literacy instruction
and during intervention and extension time. Thirty
minutes of each day needs to be dedicated to ability
groups based on interventions and extensions. On
Tuesday, Carol and Paula will describe what this looks
like. It will take every warm breathing body to
implement our reading groups. Even though we have
a laser focus on structured reading instruction, don't
forget to facilitate the love of reading books of their
choice!

Our 4th
Grade Geography Common Assessment window starts this
Monday.
If your class
participates in the SNAP math assessment, that needs to
be completed right away. Amanda Pasley will be providing
more information.
DRA assessment training begins this Thursday.
Carol Payne will be providing more information.
MAP Assessment
is the test replacing Discovery ThinkLink PAS.
Veronica Brown has that test set up and ready to go!
Remind your students to do their best. We will be
placing a lot of value on these results. |
